Is there any progress on this?? I have same problem except... every time i try to switch user...pc freezes and hard reset is only to boot.
I have Kubuntu 7.10, latest ati fglrx... This same problem started w/ feisty so hopefully this will get fixed. Since feisty i have fresh installed my kubuntu twice.
