Public bug reported:

when opening the lid of my laptop, the focus of my mouse pointer seems
to be completely lost, ie i can move the mouse around but when
attempting to click on some buttons there is no response at all.
luckily, i soon realized that switching to a linux console and then
coming back with ctrl-alt-f7 suddenly everything comes into normal
focusing mode and also the audio and microphone volume indicators pop
up. from this point on focusing works as normal. note: i am using focus-
follows-mouse mode and rise-widows-on-focus so that this regression
(which was not present in previous versions of xfce) was most probably
overlooked in testing since, admittedly, this is not a very common usage
setting.
