It always works to start the system when I hold down the Capslok button after
selecting the system.
But it's trial and error, as sometimes it doesn't start.

When it is in performance, the system fails to boot even when holding capslock.
But when it is in energy saving mode, boot with capslock works almost every
time. 👍

This does not sound like a bug in the bootloader, and I am skeptical of
that fact that it has anything to do with the state of caps lock or
power saving mode.

Would you be able to provide more information on where the boot process
gets stuck. (If you see the graphical logo, press escape to show the
console).

Both give an error, saying that there is an error in the shim, something like
that.

This is expected, you need to disable UEFI Secure Boot to run the memory
test as it is not signed and won't be signed.
