Public bug reported: The issue has been observed on Kubuntu 24.04 and with any USB removable drive.
Using a different file manager such as Thunar does not cause the problem to occur. There is no knowledge of this being a problem with the same devices on Kubuntu 22.04. Description: Ubuntu 24.04 LTS Release: 24.04 dolphin: Installed: 4:23.08.5-0ubuntu4 Candidate: 4:23.08.5-0ubuntu4 Version table: *** 4:23.08.5-0ubuntu4 500 500 http://nz.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu noble/universe amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status I expect the computer will not lock up when Dolphin is copying files on a removable (USB) device. Instead this has happened every time such an operation has been performed and only with Dolphin.
