You have been subscribed to a public bug: Hello,
while upgrading Kubuntu 23.10 Desktop to Kubuntu 24.04 LTS Desktop using do-release-upgrade, suddenly the screen went black and only showed the cursor, which was glitched (blinking and leaving traces wherever it passed). I tried to change to tty using Ctrl-Alt+Fx but didn't work. After waiting a prudential time, I restarted the computer and now I can't boot, after BIOS and GRUB the screen stays black and does nothing. I can't change TTY here either. I tried booting in recovery mode using latest installed kernel (6.8.0-35-generic) and it says something about broken volume groups, but when I boot using the older kernel (6.5.0-35-generic) , I can access the console (the graphical environment does not boot, probably because I interrupted the upgrade). /etc/os-release says I'm running Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, so probably the system upgraded well but something is broken with latest kernel. As additional information, I'm using a Nvidia GTX1060 graphics card and I use propietary drivers. Greetings. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Black screen after upgrading 23.10 to 24.04 LTS https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2069414 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
