** Description changed:

- I could not find an exact trigger yet, but from time to time the mapping of
the mouse goes crazy in browsers (at least the standard Ubuntu Firefox package
and a Rambox Debian package which, I assume, is based on chromium):
- * the wheel starts acting as if it was mapped to previous/next shortcut (alt
right/left arrows I think)
+ I could not find an exact trigger yet, but from time to time the mapping of
the mouse goes crazy in browsers (at least the standard Ubuntu snap Firefox
package and a Rambox Debian package which, I assume, is based on Chromium):
+ * the wheel starts acting as if it was mapped to previous/next shortcut (so
same effect than alt right/left arrows)
  * the left click is... well, I'm not sure, but it's not left-click anymore
(clicking a link on Firefox seems to have no effect other that noticing that
the link is clicked)
  * not sure it's related to the mapping but another problem is that some
"button" seems to end up producing a click event but is never released and in
some case it ends up getting a bit crazy until I find a way to stop that
(clicking the mouse button has no effect in that case)

A workaround which works well is to start a new Firefox windows with
Ctrl+N and close it. And this workaround also fixes other impacted
applications, so I guess it's much more general than Firefox.

Sorry for the lack of technical detail, but I have no idea what exactly
is in charge of this or what to look at. But I would gladly check
anything you want as it's quite a huge pain since the Upgrade to 24.04
  as you can imagine.

Some details (some of which might already be in the report sent by
ubuntu-bug, but just to be sure):
