Thanks for reporting this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are actually going to need the log information for the 2.6.24 Hardy kernel in order to help debug. Would it be possible for you to take a digital photo of the kernel panic you witness and attach it to this bug report? Also can you try booting with the 'noapic' option to see if it helps? Thanks.
