Public bug reported: I am using ubuntu 16.04, 20.04 and 22.04 for a project (22.04 would be the upgraded version, 16.04 is the current version and 20.04 is the development version).
In 16.04 and 20.04 the thermal printers I am using (PartnerTech RP700 and STAR TSP 700II) are working correctly but in 22.04 the same pdf generates extra spaces on top of the receipt. Also, it scales the paper in random heights so it's not working correctly anymore. On the cups-filter github page I was able to identify that the problem lies on pdftopdf filter which breaks the normal operation. There are some tests done in 20.04 and 22.04. The issue is reported here: https://github.com/OpenPrinting/cups-filters/issues/583 This breaks the functionality of the thermal printers, especially the dynamic roll printing (ie dynamic height). ** Affects: cups-filters (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: jammy thermal-printer -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2065860 Title: pdftopdf issue on thermal printer for 22.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cups-filters/+bug/2065860/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
