Hi Peter, Thanks for reporting this bug and help making Ubuntu better.
From your logs, I see: SSHDConfig: Error: command ['/usr/sbin/sshd', '-T'] failed with exit code 255: Missing privilege separation directory: /run/sshd Have you manually removed that directory? Could you provide more information about your setup? e.g., could you share that default configuration file you mentioned (please be careful not to leak any sensitive information). I am marking this as incomplete. Once you provide additional information, please, set this bug status back to new. ** Changed in: openssh (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2065027 Title: package openssh-server 1:9.3p1-1ubuntu3.3 failed to install/upgrade: installed openssh-server package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openssh/+bug/2065027/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
