That's the gist of it. Launcher runs but game won't play with the error above. Non-HD h3hota.exe will also GPF immediately. What's surprising that every other Wine version that I've tried (via playonlinux) will of course run HotA just fine (it's an old, mature project) and previous Ubuntu 23.10 also ran HotA just fine. % ~/.PlayOnLinux/wine/linux-x86/9.0/bin/wine HD_Launcher # Runs fine Perhaps I don't have winemono installed (that's the first thing playonlinux does), but it was working before the dist-upgrade and there is no apparent way to install it. Maybe there is any other kind of wine misconfiguration, but provided that I've just done a dist upgrade from 23.10, and it was running fine there, I consider that a regression.
