As I wrote on 2007-11-30 (note that I'm not the original poster, I subscribed later and added a comment: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/vpnc/+bug/109420/comments/3 ), it works perfectly with vpnc with admin rights, I've been using it that way for years for my university VPN. Plain "sudo vpnc <profilename>" has been working for ages, so I think it's kvpnc's problem. I also quoted my profile file with which I connect - see above.
