Some interesting observations: 1. This occurs on Kubuntu and Unity 2. This does NOT occur on Lubuntu 3. The apt cache (in /var/lib/apt/lists) that comes with the ISO only includes Packages files associated with the ISO on Kubuntu and Unity 4. The above makes installing virt-manager impossible without doing an update first in Kubuntu and Unity 5. The apt cache that comes with the ISO additionally includes Packages files for noble and noble-updates (at least universe) on Lubuntu 6. The above makes installing virt-manager possible without doing an update first in Lubuntu
The only thing I don't understand: why is the apt cache more robust in Lubuntu? Maybe this is irrelevant. It seems that without Internet, this isn't even exposed as an option. Given that, we could probably just include an update. This probably makes sense. We include one with the third-party software, so we should include one with virt-manager (and also the option to apply updates). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2061150 Title: Selecting "full installation" crashes installation with "external command errors" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/calamares-settings-ubuntu/+bug/2061150/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
