I don't think the versioned build depends libtins-dev (>=4.0), was problematic. By dropping the (>=4.0) you are just allowing older versions of the package to satisfy the dependency, and we are not interested in that. 2. From a quick test, looks like we actually need that explicit libssl-dev build-depends you added. Do you have an idea on how it was building before, without that?
