This bug is still present in the Gutsy installer. Workaround: when the error message comes up saying that no networking hardware has been detected, press Ctrl-Alt-F2 in order to switch to another tty. Press enter to activate it. Enter the command "modprobe 3c509". Verify that the module has indeed been loaded using lsmod.
Switch back to the installer by pressing Ctrl-Alt-F1. Ignore the error message and proceed with configuring the network. Worked for me. -- Xubuntu installer does not detect 3com 3c509 ISA ethernet card https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/70507 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
