I'm on Feisty and having a similar problem importing images from my Kodak EasyShare 310. I was getting an error which read "PTP Protocol error, data expected" whenever I tried to import. So, I imported via XP instead. This s no longer an option as I am Ubuntu-only.
The odd thing is that any app I now use to try to import images can view and import only those images which XP had previously imported. It could be that the batch of photos in question are saved internally and not on the flash card, or they have some requisite tag present or absent which the more recent photos do not. I have no clue which is the case. The immediately preceding post does not seem to apply to me. Here are the first few lines of my /etc/udev/rules.d/libgphoto2.rules: # udev rules file for libgphoto2 devices (udev >= 0.98) # SUBSYSTEM!="usb*", GOTO="libgphoto2_rules_end" ACTION!="add", GOTO="libgphoto2_rules_end" This report says that a fix has been released, but I'm not seeing how to get it. Would appreciate any help. P.S. - Ubuntuforums suggests in various places to downgrade libgphoto2 to version 2.2 from 2.3, but this doesn't appear to be possible in Feisty. -- digital camera import does not find any files https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/32038 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
