Public bug reported:
This morning the security patch USN-5394-1
(https://ubuntu.com/security/notices/USN-5394-1) deployed on my laptop
and following a reboot, I can no longer compose emails (or reply to
emails) using Evolution (3.40.4-1ubuntu2). The composition window is
blank. I'm on 21.10.
As a proof of concept, I have rolled back the relevant parts of
USN-5394-1 as follows:
1. Restored libwebkit2gtk-4.0.so.37.55.9 and
libjavascriptcoregtk-4.0.so.18.19.11 (in /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu) from a ZFS
snapshot.
2. Re-established soft-links `libwebkit2gtk-4.0.so.37` and
`libjavascriptcoregtk-4.0.so.18` to point to above versions.
Does this bug belong somewhere else? If so, please guide me; I've
raised it here because of the clear regression impact. I can't really
choose between the vulnerabilities in USN-5394-1 and being able to write
email...
