Oh I am so sorry for wasting your time. But thank you so much nevertheless for helping me with finding a solution. I did try to reinstall gstreamer without success using apt, but this will probably fix it. I completely forgot that I at some point needed an at that time newer version of gstreamer than what was available in the repositories.
