I was also affected by this issue when updating from 21.10 to 22.04, not on eduroam but on my university's network. Workaround from post #22 worked for me, but I simply modified the original file (/etc/ssl/openssl.cnf). After reading other comments, I got confused. Is this a bug on Ubuntu's wpasupplicant or a problem with the university's infrastructure using old vulnerable authentication methods? If the latter, how should I report it to university's sysadmin?
