This is also with ubuntu-desktop and ubuntu-standard. -minimal and -standard are things that almost any user want to have on their computers even if you use for example another logger. (exception: alsa* nobody needs in a server install..)
But some packages in -desktop are really redundant for some people and they dont want them on their computers.
