Public bug reported: Firefox tries to use Adwaita-dark as a last resort when the user's GTK theme doesn't have dark mode support.
Unfortunately, due to the combination of two issues: * The GTK Breeze theme not having dark mode support (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=448877). * The Adwaita-dark theme not being installed by default on Kubuntu. This causes a suboptimal experience when users use a dark Firefox theme but use a light Breeze theme. See https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1759356 for an example of this. Fortunately addressing the second issue is hopefully straight-forward. It'd be great if gnome-themes-extra was installed along with Firefox, so that Firefox provides proper dark theme support for Kubuntu users. Note that other GTK applications like gnome-terminal and gtk3-widget- factory and such also assume that dark mode is available, so this might fix issues for other GTK apps too. ** Affects: kubuntu-meta (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1969606 Title: Consider installing/recommending gnome-themes-extra for Firefox To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kubuntu-meta/+bug/1969606/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
