Hi, I tested Hardy Alpha 2 LiveCD today (kernel 2.6.24-2-generic): sound & acpi works out-of-the-box! No idea what about the nvidia temp issue because no nvidia driver on the CD (and no time for playing around ;-)
Cheers Torsten P.S. apt kernel updates suck! I removed my dsdt files but the updates regenerate ALL initramfs...
