After Kernel update to 2.6.22-14.47 my laptop (Hp Pavilion tx1215nr)
display could not configure always booted to safe video mode with no way
to change the resolution. Discovered that the problem resided with
having the HWCursor "off" under Devices in xorg.conf. Using the Nvidia
C51 [Geforce 6150 Go] (rev a2) video card. It seemed to disable the
drivers and also caused splash screen failures.
