joan : Thanks for your comment. I set the importance to low since this bug can easily be worked around with the included PDF printer in Linux Ubuntu Gutsy and since it affect a limited number of characters. However, I know that bug importance is subject to debate but it will not have impact here since the bug will be fixed by OpenOffice developers in their own issue tracking system outside of launchpad.
I believe that making a advert would take more time than fixing the bug itself. In order to help that bug report getting fixed, I looked in the OpenOffice issue report center and found that this problem was already known by the developers but a sample file was still needed to reproduce the bug. I gave them the Ryan Prior file so they will now be able to reproduce that bug and fix it. It's always a good idea to help developers in their own bug tracking system. you can contribute to OpenOffice developers here : http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=59561 ** Description changed: Binary package hint: openoffice.org When I use OpenOffice.org Writer's PDF export feature, I get a PDF that looks for the most part like my document. However, certain characters don't export and leave large blank spaces in the PDF. A workaround is to "print" the document to a PostScript file and use ps2pdf to convert it. When done this way, the characters that don't show in the direct export show just fine. The only problem seems to be with Writer's direct PDF export. + + Saïvann : This bug can be reproduced in both Windows and Linux Ubuntu -- OpenOffice.org PDF export incorectness https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/177499 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
