FTR the package we had in Ubuntu was never related to the Debian packaging, so I don't class the Debian removal as relevant rationale here (and that's why it wasn't removed via process-removals); but as an unmaintained Ubuntu-specific package that's not being maintained, it's also fine to remove it.
