I was going to add a copy of the libgail-3-0 package that was working
for me to my local repository to see if I could prepare to attempt to
back out the update. I am having difficulty locating a copy of the
package that was replaced. I have access to 3.24.18 in the main
repository and the failing one in the updates, but a search for the one
that was replaced has failed.

I am looking for:

libgail-3-0_3.24.20-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb

This appears to no longer be available. Am I missing something?

I am looking for advice on my next step to recover from this failure.
Is the data available from the three back traces sufficient to isolate
the part of the recent updates that needs to be backed out? If it is
indeed libgail-3-0 should I back it out to the 3.24.18 version available
in main?
