Hello Walter Hachmann, thank you for taking the time to file a bug! debconf can wait forever if it is expecting some sort of input but not getting any. That may be what is happening here. A common scenario that can trigger this is if the config file /etc/ubuntu- advantage/uaclient.conf is edited and the new version of ubuntu- advantage-tools wants to deliver a new default uaclient.conf. However, I do see that it appears you used `--force-confdef --force-confold` which I would've expected to handle this situation.
It looks like this upgrade was triggered via aptdaemon. Can you try manually running: sudo apt install ubuntu-advantage-tools and let us know how it goes? Particularly what does debconf prompt for in this situation. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1960712 Title: package ubuntu-advantage-tools 27.6~20.04.1 failed to install/upgrade: installed ubuntu-advantage-tools package post-installation script subprocess was killed by signal (Terminated) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-advantage-tools/+bug/1960712/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
