@eeickmeyer Thank you for working on this! Even for more normal users the space may not be enough in the future as an LTS version is often used for a long time and the kernel size will probably rather increase than decrease. It just happened to me on 20.04 LTS that the boot partition ran out of space (for the first time since 20.04).
