I have an HP DV2000, nVidia, AMD Turion 64, dual core and I have it loaded with Ubuntu 7.10 (gutsy) I was having sound problems (no sound at all) and I was able to get everything working after following Holmen recipe. Downloaded the referred file, compiled it, installed and everything started working after a restart. I just had to tweek the sound system a little bit to get good sound quality.
