Effects Macbook Intel too, several people reporting similar issues on Reddit etc. nouveau_modeset argument helps device being able to sleep (power light slowly cycling etc) but that time it doesn't wake up the screen. Using nvidia drivers is not a possibility since they aren't working on old hardware/nvidia chip. (it is a separate bug)
