However, looking more at the KASAN error, it seems that the reported
error is actually an out-of-bound read... so that still doesn't explain
the stack corruption, but it's still something that needs to be fixed
(and the fix above should address this issue).

Anyway, let's see how this new test kernel works, if it's still crashing
we may need to re-enable KASAN and do an additional test with this fix
applied.
