Well, since this is obviously not related to the original issue that was reported by this bug, I proceeded with the patch request (SRU) to focal and just requested to add a backport of this commit: https://github.com/torvalds/linux/commit/49f2d2419d60a103752e5fbaf158cf8d07c0d884 to focal master next (backport only because of changes in the context).
