Per the dmesg output, your touchpad should connect via i8042 interface and 
seems detected.

[    0.549493] mousedev: PS/2 mouse device common for all mice

Does the suspend/resume makes any difference?

If not, you can go back to BIOS menu and change the BIOS setting from
"Basic mode" to "Advanced mode", then boot into Ubuntu to see if it's
detected or not. Please also paste the dmesg output here for the Advance
mode. Thanks.
