i have found a solution for my particular case, sharing here in case it helps anyone.
Using apt-cache rdepends python-minimal, i chased down what was causing the removal of python-minimal to fail. I found out that nagions-plugins- contrib, which i had installed, was pulling in python-crypto and python- bson amongst others, which depend on python-minimal. apt purge nagions-plugins-contrib and a apt autoremove --purge to remove all unneeded dependencies fixed the issue for me, and do-release-upgrade is now working. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1910127 Title: Could not calculate the upgrade from18.04 to 20.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-release-upgrader/+bug/1910127/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
