Upgrade from/to unofficial build (for example various ppa) is not supported.
For upgrade cinnamon from/to other repository a remove (or purge in some cases)
of cinnamon and all related packages installed before the upgrade is needed.

upgrade to 14.04 from 13.10 or 12.04 failed - cinnamon fails to upgrade
