Public bug reported: On several machines running Xubuntu 20.10, I do not get weather information any more. The applet says there is currently no data available. I checked different locations, too. Nothing.

At XFCE's pages on the weather plugin, there is a bug report, 4 months old, regarding a deprecated API for version 0.10.1-1, https://gitlab.xfce.org/panel-plugins/xfce4-weather-plugin/-/issues/32 , that is closed. Is this perhaps the reason for my problem? Sadly, I could not simply install the Debian package to check, because the required, higher versions of some gdk-pixbuf packages are not available in Xubuntu, so I gave up on that for now.
