Little tip to the workaround from Erich Eickmeyer
I found out the the same...
Ardour crashes when parameter "Oversampling" has the value "4"
Because of this i was unable to open my Ardour and Mixbus files anymore.

To save the work with enabling/disabling all plugins
open the affected .ardour file in a text-editor and search for "Calf Limiter".
under "active" change the value "1" to "0" and save and close.
Now you can open the file in Ardour/Mixbus again and change the parameter
"Oversampling" from 4 to to a value between 1 and 3.
After this you can enable the Calf Limiter plugin again.

You will do this on our own risk! you should make a backup before
manipulating the .ardour file.
