Public bug reported: Networkmanager takes 10-15 seconds to connect to wifi after wake, as opposed to the normal 3-5 seconds.
This bug has already been fixed by the upstream maintainers of networkmanager- I hope to see the fix included in 21.04 before it's release. The fix can be found here nm 1.30- https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/NetworkManager/NetworkManager/-/commit/16d649ea92a1c481a59395d8672224e9e40563a3 nm 1.26 https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/NetworkManager/NetworkManager/-/commit/5454681ab76ee02cfa85d65e29005b974efb3c52 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 21.04 Package: network-manager 1.26.2-1ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.8.0-36.40+21.04.1-generic 5.8.18 Uname: Linux 5.8.0-36-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: zfs zunicode zavl icp zcommon znvpair ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu55 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckMismatches: ./pool/restricted/n/nvidia-graphics-drivers-418-server/nvidia-utils-418-server_418.152.00-0ubuntu2_amd64.deb CasperMD5CheckResult: skip CasperVersion: 1.456 CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Fri Mar 5 21:33:14 2021 IpRoute: default via 192.168.254.254 dev wlp58s0 proto dhcp metric 600 169.254.0.0/16 dev wlp58s0 scope link metric 1000 192.168.254.0/24 dev wlp58s0 proto kernel scope link src 192.168.254.23 metric 600 LiveMediaBuild: Ubuntu 21.04 "Hirsute Hippo" - Alpha amd64 (20210123) ProcEnviron: TERM=xterm-256color PATH=(custom, no user) XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=<set> LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: network-manager UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) nmcli-con: NAME UUID TYPE TIMESTAMP TIMESTAMP-REAL AUTOCONNECT AUTOCONNECT-PRIORITY READONLY DBUS-PATH ACTIVE DEVICE STATE ACTIVE-PATH SLAVE FILENAME Retire 0e4604c0-8174-4f20-a2b6-94cb936ce194 wifi 1614979809 Fri 05 Mar 2021 09:30:09 PM UTC yes 0 no /org/freedesktop/NetworkManager/Settings/1 yes wlp58s0 activated /org/freedesktop/NetworkManager/ActiveConnection/1 -- /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections/Retire.nmconnection nmcli-dev: DEVICE TYPE STATE IP4-CONNECTIVITY IP6-CONNECTIVITY DBUS-PATH CONNECTION CON-UUID CON-PATH wlp58s0 wifi connected full limited /org/freedesktop/NetworkManager/Devices/2 Retire 0e4604c0-8174-4f20-a2b6-94cb936ce194 /org/freedesktop/NetworkManager/ActiveConnection/1 p2p-dev-wlp58s0 wifi-p2p disconnected none none /org/freedesktop/NetworkManager/Devices/3 -- -- -- lo loopback unmanaged unknown unknown /org/freedesktop/NetworkManager/Devices/1 -- -- -- nmcli-nm: RUNNING VERSION STATE STARTUP CONNECTIVITY NETWORKING WIFI-HW WIFI WWAN-HW WWAN running 1.26.2 connected started full enabled enabled enabled enabled enabled ** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug hirsute -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1917949 Title: Networkmanager takes a long time to connect to wifi after wake from suspend To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/1917949/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
