Thanks for your bug report and for your contribution to free software. I don't think that Pidgin or XMPP protocol (used by Googletalk) support this. If pidgin only give you a error message when you try to send a message to yourself, it's already a good behavior. I suggest that you talk about this issue with Pidgin developers in IRC #pidgin channel in freenode servers. you can also file this bug report in the bug tracking system of Pidgin in order to make sure that your bug report is seen by a Pidgin developer and link the new bug report to this one.
I can reproduce that bug with my own googletalk account with Pidgin, so I set the status to confirmed. ** Changed in: pidgin (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Low Status: New => Confirmed ** Summary changed: - unable to send messages with google talk, receive xmpp message error + XMMP/GoogleTalk error message when sending a message to myself ** Summary changed: - XMMP/GoogleTalk error message when sending a message to myself + XMPP/GoogleTalk error message when sending a message to myself -- XMPP/GoogleTalk error message when sending a message to myself https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/176275 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
