Public bug reported: Using Tweaks (v3.34.0), I'd set Caps Lock behavior to function as an additional Ctrl key. When using VMWare player, after allowing the guest VM to capture key inputs, then release the keys back to the host machine (Ubuntu 20.04), the normal Ctrl keys, left & right but NOT the Caps Ctrl key, as well as the Num Lock key no longer work, i.e. pressing them has no effect (e.g. Ctrl-c does not terminate a running process in the terminal, and would only show "c" as being inputted). Other modifiers, such as Alt, Tab and Super keys function normally.
Going into the Tweaks tool, then toggling the behavior between "Caps Lock is also Ctrl" and "Disabled" returns functionality to the normal Ctrl keys. However this workaround is inconvenient to do if it is required after every interaction with a guest VM. ** Affects: gnome-tweaks (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1916636 Title: Caps Lock as additional Ctrl interacts badly with VMWare Player To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-tweaks/+bug/1916636/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
