Public bug reported: I installed Ubuntu Studio 20.04 which is using XFCE.
I want to run Ubuntu Studio on Kubuntu, so did 'sudo install kubuntu- desktop' After this, notifications in Plasma are marked "Notifications service not available" and a message given "Notifications are currently provided by Xfce Xfce Notify Daemon instead of Plasma". I found https://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/slackware-14 /notifications-in-the-latest-kde5-plasma-ktown-packages-4175670133/ but can not get the fix provided there by davjohn to let me reliably switch between Xfce and Plasma and still have notifications work as I want in both environments.
