Next time the problem starts please open a Terminal window and run:

  journalctl -b0 > curboot.txt

Or if you had to reboot then instead run:

  journalctl -b-1 > prevboot.txt

and attach the resulting text file here.

Also, while the problem is happening, does 'top' show any process using
high CPU?
