This bug started affecting me a few weeks ago. It seems to happen whenever a new kernel version is pushed out.
This time, what Ben did in #75 -- downgrading grub to 2.02+dfsg1-12ubuntu2.1 -- was the only thing that fixed it for me. I cannot remember exactly what fixed it for me the first time, but I did not have to downgrade grub - I believe installing an older kernel was what finally fixed it. I have a Dell XPS 15 9550, Ubuntu 20.04 installed with EFI, and a LUKS encrypted primary drive. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1853369 Title: [19.10] Boot hangs at "loading initial ramdisk" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/intel-microcode/+bug/1853369/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
