I got an error message yesterday when I started synaptic. I don't
remember exactly what it said, but it was to the effect of: "there has
been a problem with a package. Please run dpkg --configure -a" I ran
that command (with sudo, of course) and now everything seems to be fine.
The next entry in my term.log has no mention of network manager in it at
all, and I can run synaptic and apt-get with no problems.
