I'm working on Ubuntustudio 7.10, gutsy gibbon, shared-mime-info is version 0.22-2ubuntu2 and have that same problem (didn't have it under edgy eft and skipped feisty fawn); installing the stand-allone version of ufraw did not really help. As I work with F-Spot as catalogue I would love to have the right mime-typ on the NEFs (uppercase; nef lower-case- letters is working fine), because else it doesn't give me GIMP in the context-menue and I'm not really fond of bulk-renaming xxxx pictures in ?? folder and subfolder :)
