I was really happy to see that someone else had this problem and that its being worked on. Can I ask, what would be the workaround in the meantime to get apt-get/synaptic to work? Mathias' update-rc.d suggestion above didn't seem to solve the problem... It appears apt just starts AppArmor anyway when it tries to install a package. I'm getting this error on persistent LiveUSB Xubuntu 7.10 if that changes anything.
