I did a QA-test install of Lubuntu hirsute on dc7700 (with internet)
[not sure it's important, it detected my location as perth; west side of
australia instead of east side; about ~2722km out as the bird flies]

On reboot & first install, I got the prompt telling me there were
updates & I entered password. I didn't get any error message.

I then opened terminal and `sudo apt update`, and 38 updates were
detected. I would normally `sudo apt full-upgrade` but instead opened
discover and it detected the 38 packages. I hit apply in discover and
the 38 updates were updated. (confirmed at terminal)

I'll add myself as impacted by this issue as the initial update message
implies updates were available, I entered password but none were
applied. Discover though worked correctly for me.
