I have last Ubuntu 20.10 on an DEXP Atlas H158 ( Core i7 6700HQ, Nvidia
GeForce 940M + Intel HD 530). And removing "quiet splash" does not help
me with that bug. Have to remove HDMI cable from my notebook before
every boot.
