I can't see any usb-modeswitch problem but your ZTE dongle does repeatedly fall off the usb bus and moment later arriving again with its initial id 19d2:1595 which usb_modeswitch immediately switches to 19d2:1592. This sequence is repeated through the whole log session:
09:49:38 19d2:1595 09:49:41 modeswitch 09:50:17 19d2:1592 09:51:07 19d2:1595 09:51:07 modeswitch 09:51:08 19d2:1592 09:51:56 19d2:1595 09:51:57 modeswitch 09:51:57 19d2:1592 09:52:51 19d2:1595 09:52:52 modeswitch 09:52:53 19d2:1592 The most likely reason for a device to fall off the usb bus is that it draws more current than what the usb port can deliver. A faulty usb controller or abad usb cable can also cause this problem but power problem is the most likely. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1903331 Title: usb-modeswitch 2.6.1-1ubuntu2 is very buggy on Ubuntu 20.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/usb-modeswitch/+bug/1903331/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
