Oh ok, sorry about this then. I didn't read the changelog, I was just going by the content listing from the repository (https://packages.ubuntu.com/bionic/amd64/icedtea-8-plugin/filelist), which still lists the file.
I was having trouble getting an embedded java application in a BMC web- interface to run, and this seemed like a possible culprit. I somehow missed the whole NPAPI issue.
