Public bug reported: Updated to 20.04 from 19.10 last week.
Wayland enabled on gdm3, Gnome on wayland session. When receiving notifications from the Slack snap or notifications from Firefox Developer Edition on the Slack site, the desktop freezes, the keyboard does not work (cannot switch to virtual console), neither does the mouse pointer. After some 30s the desktop unfreezes and everything continues normally. Don't know what logs to check, journal and syslog offer no clues. Disabled wayland on gdm3. Gnome on Xorg session (configured "intel" driver instead of "modesetting"). Slack notifications do not cause desktop freezes. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1902885 Title: Gnome on wayland freezes on notification To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1902885/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
